I absolutely love finding new brands that align with not only my style but my values. I’m a huge fan of Brooklyn Decker and this spring I saw her collaboration with Buru on instagram and immediately fell in in love with the brand. I remember thinking “I’d love to work with a brand like that!” The Universe works in some pretty fun ways because a few weeks ago the owner and founder of Buru, Morgan, reached out to me to partner on a pop-up shop in Jackson Hole. I absolutely loved meeting her and her lovely husband, who helps run the biz, and learn more about her story. I played dress up all day and asked a million questions about the designs, materials, and her business. To say I’m inspired is an understatement, plus she had me at Banana Dress!
Buru is designed and made in the USA in a microfactory in Los Angeles, right around the corner from Morgan, the founder and her darling little family. She wanted to create a fashion line for moms who want to feel and look chic, while doing the mom thing. Aka running after children, getting spit and spilled on, mamas breastfeeding, and not having a ton of time to head to the dry cleaners. While I’m not a mom yet, I can certainly appreciate wanting stylish clothes that are easy. Everything is MACHINE WASHABLE! I mean, what?…..that’s amazing. Buru sources deadstock fabrics, which are essentially left over fabrics and materials that would otherwise go to waste. Morgan purchases them and recycles them into her own designs to create new life, making Buru super sustainable and ethically made. As someone who is constantly looking for better ways to be a consumer in today’s world, Buru makes me not only look good but feel good, too! Buru is for any woman in any stage of womanhood and will last for years to come.
A lot of her styles like the Smocked Waist Midi Skirt and Blouse above are interchangeable with other looks, or easy to pair with other items in your closet. And let’s talk about her fun accessories!! I most definitely foresee using the rattan belt with a lot of looks in the future. The turban is a first for me, but I dig it. And I am officially a bubblegum pink gal with the off the shoulder summer dress below. Add a big ol’ rattan belt and boom, summer ready. Shop these looks below!
