i put my beloved clancy man down over a year and a half ago.
click here for the sob story.
everyone who knows me knows that we were soul mates.
sorry jeff.
he was my best bud for 15 years, went to college with me, and came to work everyday.
i’m constantly being asked “when will you get a new dog?”
honestly, i’m still holding on to this guy and feel guilty even thinking about it!
is this normal or am i being crazy?

i think it’s totally normal to not be ready! i think you’ll know when you’re ready.. losing a lifelong friend is really hard 🙁
this photo is such a beautiful capture of an undeniable connection. xo.
awww you are normal. dogs are special.
Legit just started to cry. THANKS CLANCE.
What a beautiful photo, and yes you are normal. I still can’t bring myself to get a new dog after two years 🙁
You are normal and getting another dog will not replace the one you lost. I think it is perfectly okay to hold off on not getting another dog and you will know when you are ready for another pet.
That post was so sweet, what an amazing photo – sad I never got to meet the precious pup. I think you will know when you are ready. And, when you are that new pup will certainly not replace that precious dog – just add a new storyline!
What a sweetie. I totally think its fine that you’ve been holding off on another dog … but I bet you’ll be surprised at how some little puppy captures a whole new place in your heart soon 🙂 It happened to me.
Aww, no, you are not crazy. My BF gets sad sometimes about (some time in the hopefully far future) when we lose our dog who is 5 yrs old right now. It’s a rough thing to deal with. BUT, puppies do cure a lot of woes!!
I had a doggie too and it passed away a year and a few months ago. I hadn’t even thought about a new dog since then – I don’t think I can handle another come-and-go.
ps. but my sister did have her own dog sweetie a few months ago. 🙂

I totally get it! Only “dog people” understand this, they have a way of really becoming a part of us! I love my dog to death!

aww I always say that the worst part about getting a dog is them passing away (morbid I know). You aren’t being crazy at all!
Definitely not crazy. I tell my dog every day that he has to be around until he’s at least 20. I know, that’s unrealistic, but they’re just the best!
